Description

It’s hard to overestimate the importance of the family, and that of fathers in particular. We’ve heard it said, “As the family goes, so goes the nation.” But it can also be said that “as the father goes, so goes the family.” Consequently, Voddie Baucham has set out to teach men how to faithfully shepherd their families.Derived from Baucham’s monthly meetings with men in his church, Family Shepherds calls men to accountability for their God-given responsibilities in their homes. Baucham’s clear style and practical approach will spur men to protect their marriage, raise kingdom-minded children, value the synergy between church and home, and navigate difficult family dynamics.Family Shepherds is a book for any husband or father looking to lead well, and it will serve as an excellent resource for churches looking to equip the men in their congregations.

About the Author

Voddie Baucham Jr.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Voddie Baucham Jr. embarked on his educational journey at New Mexico State University transferring later to Rice University in Texas, where he showcased his athleticism as a tight end in football.

Afterward, Baucham pursued his undergraduate studies at Houston Baptist University, earning a B.A. degree. He continued his academic pursuits by obtaining an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a D.Min. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Baucham's thirst for knowledge led him to further post-graduate studies at the prestigious University of Oxford. In 1993, he founded Voddie Baucham Ministries, marking the beginning of his impactful religious work.

As an African-American Calvinist, Voddie brings a powerful biblical perspective to apologetics, as both his esteemed education and his cultural background uniquely qualify him as a voice for scriptural truth crying out in the wilderness of the declining broader Christian worldview.

Intellectual and yet accessible, Voddie Baucham Jr. is a respected theological voice in the realm of the Reformed tradition and beyond. Voddie currently serves the Body of Christ as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia.

I love the REF-UL app. I am always on the go and I need something inspiring to listen to, but that can get eeeexpensive. Not with REF-UL. This app HAS EVERYTHING I NEED: I play it, I like it, I go on listening. Or I play it, it doesn’t resonate, and I go to the next title. I DON’T HAVE TO PAY MORE! And what is best is it has not only my favorite authors, but also the ones I have never listened to but are on my bucket list.
There are books for me, and books for my daughter. I've been challenged, inspired, encouraged and I feel like it's really strengthening my walk with the Lord!
